Belmont is a small town of 27 295 population on the western suburb of Boston bordering West Cambridge Massachusetts, Watertown and Arlington. It is well known for the mansion-filled Belmont Hill neighborhood although residents live on the low-lying areas around the hill. There are 3 major commercial centers: Belmont Center with mom-and-pop stores and Town hall, Cushing square in the South and Waverly Square in the West. Belmont is served by the Belmont Public Schools with 4 public elementary schools and the Belmont High School noted for its college placement and strong academics and athletics.

Belmont is a sophisticated area with great schools and a community feel that caters to the wealthier residents of the commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is almost an entirely residential community that is less than five square miles in area. It is only 9 miles from downtown Boston, and many residents choose to live in Belmont and commute into the city every day.
